Stefan Georgiev

Georgiev’s artistic journey commenced in 1979, focusing on painting and illustration. His work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Bulgaria, Germany, and Turkey. Between 2000 and 2014, he resided and worked in Athens, Greece. There, he participated in various independent exhibitions and was actively involved in group exhibitions organized by the Artists Union of Greece (EETE). Additionally, Georgiev has illustrated children’s books for some of Greece’s most prominent publishing companies, with 28 published books featuring his artwork.

In his paintings, Georgiev employs mixed media, utilizing materials such as acrylic paste, gold and silver metal foil, collage, acrylic, and oil paint. This diverse range of mediums enriches the visual texture of his work. He meticulously processes the canvas surface with a spatula to achieve the desired effect before adding contrasting and subtle colors, which vary according to the painting’s theme.

Georgiev’s compositions are predominantly figurative, with details that are realistic yet stylized and decorative. The diversity of his subjects is matched by the richness of colors, textures, and the inclusion of various botanical and natural elements. These aspects render his paintings intriguing, spiritually resonant, and easily assimilable.

His artwork is represented in numerous galleries and private collections across the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, the USA, Canada, and Hong Kong.
